WinQuay completed End of Life Doula training with International End of Life Doula Association (INELDA) in February 2020. Core components of the training include: deep active listening, common issues in facing death, meaning and legacy work, vigil planning, guided imagery, rituals, and early grief work.

WinQuay took Advance Care Planning Facilitator Training in June 2020 from The Dying Year. “The Respecting Choices® First Steps Facilitator Training prepares participants to assist healthy adults to choose a healthcare advocate; examine their values, wishes and goals; and document and share their preferences. “

WinQuay is excited about the opportunity to help people live as fully as possible until they die.

From INELDA’s website “Hospice and palliative care programs don’t have the structure or staffing to alleviate the care issues that arise from our cultural denial and avoidance around death. This is why the new role of doula has emerged. Doulas fill in the gaps. More than that, they help restore sacredness to dying, provide respite to exhausted caregivers, bring deep meaning to the dying experience, and prepare people for the last breaths of their loved one.”
